A Love Story Rooted in Friendship

When you’ve known someone as long as I’ve known Tina, you don’t just call them a friend. You call them family. Our story began all the way back in our wide-eyed freshman year of high school. From the late-night heart-to-hearts over teenage heartbreaks to the moment we both transferred to our dream college, she has been my rock, my sounding board, my forever partner-in-crime. We’ve flown to show up for each other’s graduations, laughed through the wild ride of early adulthood, and cheered each other on through every chapter life has written for us.

So when Tina and Peter finally decided to turn their years-long friendship into a forever love story, I wasn’t just happy for them. I was honored. Honored to be asked to stand beside them as both a bridesmaid and their officiant at their wedding at the gorgeous Lorimar Winery in Temecula.

From High School Hallways to Lifelong Memories

Tina and I met as two awkward teenagers navigating the chaos of high school. We bonded over late-night study sessions, shared dreams, and all the highs and lows that come with growing up. Through every “what am I doing with my life” moment and every little victory, she was always there. Our friendship was never just about the good times. It was about showing up when it mattered most. I still remember flying out to her college graduation, losing my voice screaming her name as she walked across the stage just like she did for me. That’s just who we are to each other.

Then Came Peter

I met Peter during our college years. He was a proud Zeta at UCLA (boooo) and I was in a sorority. We met at a social exchange and I remember thinking right away how fun and funny he was. His energy lit up the room. I didn’t know then that he would one day become the perfect match for my longtime friend. Tina and Peter crossed paths through mutual friends and slowly but surely, a connection started to grow. What began as a close friendship turned into something deeper, something undeniable.

A Love That Took Its Time

Tina and Peter spent years as friends before finally giving their hearts a chance to catch up to what everyone, especially me hmph, around them already saw. Their love was never rushed. It was patient, rooted in respect and real understanding. When they finally took that leap, it felt like a movie moment. Their story was already written in the stars; they just had to turn the page.

So when they announced their engagement, I was ecstatic. Not surprised, just completely overjoyed.

A Wedding Straight Out of a Dream

Their wedding day at Lorimar Winery was nothing short of magical. Tucked away in the hills of Temecula wine country, the venue was everything you'd want for a celebration of true love. The vineyard views, the golden light, the air full of joy. It was the perfect setting for their next chapter. Tina looked absolutely radiant, and Peter’s face and tears said it all. The love between them was felt by every single person there.

And me? I was 37 weeks pregnant, wobbling around in heels, but I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. I stood with them as part of the bridal party and had the privilege of officiating their ceremony. Was it a challenge? Yes. Was it worth every second? Absolutely. That’s what we do for the people who mean the most to us.

Tina and Peter are more than just a couple. They’re what happens when a deep friendship becomes the foundation for a lifelong love. They make you believe in the kind of love that’s genuine, patient, and strong. Their wedding wasn’t just about a beautiful dress or a scenic venue. It was about everything they’ve built over the years and everything they’ll continue to build together.

Getting to be such a big part of their day, especially while growing a baby boy in my belly, was a memory I’ll treasure for life.
